Canvas & Paper Size Directly Affects Detail
For live paintings, I’ve set a minimum size of 16" × 20″.
All mediums require enough surface area to lay down smooth, detailed brushwork without compromising quality due to their viscosity, brush sizes and brush load needs .
As the size of the piece increases, so does the potential for richer detail and complex composition, but this also requires significantly more time to complete and perfect.
